I was sitting in a wicker chair about a year ago and got up to walk into another room and happened to look at my watch and the bezel was gone! Bezel popped off! Uh oh. This is the result of my wrist and watch coming into contact with a piece of steel conveyor today. I stepped on the bezel, and cracked it. I do have all the pieces, but now have to get a replacement bezel. The bezels on the 5-digit models are not difficult to take off. However, there is a small “click spring” for both the Sub and the GMT — hopefully you did not loose it! The bezel can just snap back on (there are several videos on YouTube). I just bought a Rolex Sub C 2 days ago and noticed the bezel was misaligned. I searched the issue on the web and got to this thread. I contacted my rep at Tourneau and they are going to exchange it for me.

This instructable will guide you through removing and replacing the bezel on your Rolex Submariner. The same general process can be used with a GMT Master II. I used my stainless steel anniversary sub, reference 16610. The nice, deep, clicking sound of the bezel turning is one of those little details that Rolex gts right. So, if you have a stiff or slightly misaligned bezel, don't be afraid to grab masking tape and a butter knife and pop the thing off. If I can do it anyone can!
